It’s an exciting time at Windsurf! We’re thrilled to announce Wave 11, a monumental update that comes on the heels of our acquisition by Cognition, the brilliant team behind Devin. This collaboration marks a significant leap forward, as we double down on our mission to build the ultimate agentic IDE for developers.

Wave 11 is packed with features designed to make your development workflow faster, smarter, and more intuitive. One of the most revolutionary additions is Voice for Cascade. Imagine simply talking to your agent, dictating complex instructions without typing a single word. This feature streamlines interaction, especially for longer, more intricate tasks.

To enhance your collaborative and conversational experience, we’re introducing Named Checkpoints & @-Mentions. You can now create snapshots of your conversations and easily share context or reference past discussions. Need to generate tests for an earlier implementation? Just @-mention the relevant chat!

Our Deeper Browser Integration allows Cascade to truly “see” and reason across your open tabs. It can pull information, screenshots, and even DOM trees directly from your browser, autonomously collecting data that previously required manual copying. This is a game-changer for frontend development.

We’ve also made Planning Mode the default, ensuring smarter, more accurate workflows right from the start. This structured approach to tasks improves the quality and precision of Cascade’s responses. And for our dedicated JetBrains users, you’ll be delighted with expanded agentic power, including full support for Planning Mode, Workflows, and file-based Rules within your favorite IDE.

Beyond these major highlights, Wave 11 brings a host of quality-of-life improvements, from @-mentioning the terminal to an auto-continue setting for Cascade responses. We’re incredibly excited about what’s next and deeply grateful for this amazing community that drives us forward.
